The Echo Tapes, 18-track album, published on Bandcamp

release date: February 04, 2013

Here´s a collection of overhauled obscure, abstract, experimental and more-or less introverted instrumental pieces and sound poems from the period 1983-1990, consisting of session recordings, improvs, outtakes, alternate versions, done at AVC (Den Bosch, The Netherlands) and l'Echo des Montagnes (Brussls, Belgium). Recorded on 4-track Tascam and 1" Otari reel-to-reel tape machines. Generated with the use of pre-MIDI analogue synthesizers like ARP and Oberheim, analogue sequencers, and one of the first Emulator II sampling stations that were available in Europe. There are even shards of field recordings integrated, done on a monaural Nagra. Some of these pieces were the result of collaborations with video artists, experimental film directors and multi-media artists, others were just inspired by the moment.

Seven Sorrows, single track release on Bandcamp

release date: September 29, 2013

I pulled this theme from the early 1990's into the present day with a total overhaul. It could well serve as an end-title theme for the movies. The overall feeling you get is that this one tells you of a lot of things lived, experienced and seen, all condensed in a musical goodbye. Epic, melancholic, yet with total awareness and clarity.

Eros Délétère, album remix, now out on Bandcamp

release date: February 23, 2013

This album contains the original soundtrack to a choreography with the same name, by Compagnie Thor. Starting point for this commission was the eternal link between sex and death, between Eros and Thanatos, set against the backdrop of contemporary issues. Echos of Ravel's Bolero, North-African ambience and Middle-Eastern orchestras are part of a thematic crescendo that follows the seven stages of agony as described by Elizabeth Kübler-Ross.

The original CD came out in 1991 (distributed by MSI France), when the dance performance bearing the same name went into premiere at the international dance festival of Montpellier, France. Soon after it was removed from the market due to copyright issues with interpretations of the "Bolero", which now is public domain, but wasn't back then in certain countries. Therefor I am happy to be able to give this release a second opportunity, edited, remixed and remastered, for its digital release on Bandcamp.

Collaborating on this album: Nikolas Klau (programming & ass. mix), Drem Bruinsma (keys, samplers and programming), Quentin Smolderen (ney, darbuka, & lute), Ulf-Maria Kühne (vocals), Manuella Ammoun (voice), Paul Zahl (snare drum), Luc van Lieshout (trumpet), Steven Brown (alto sax) and Pierre Six (flute). Recorded and mixed at studio l'Echo Des Montagnes, Brussels, from November 1990 to April 1991 by Drem Bruinsma. Remixed and remastered by BlindººCoyote, 2011-2013 @ Chumberos, Spain.

Shadows of Drifting Dust, full album, out on Bandcamp this fall

release date: Fall 2013

In a couple of months all the tweaking and mixing and mastering will be done, so BººC will eventually be able to crawl out of that dark soundproofed room called Chumberos, and present to you a very special and captivating compilation of single tracks that were or weren't previously released digitally, a collection of instrumental pieces for audiovisual projects, dance, theatre, animation etc., done over a period of 15 years. Some remixed, other just touched up. Stay tuned.
